Paul Potts Rocks

I loved to hear, see, and feel Paul's passion for the opera. His performance uncoiled the collective emotions of the audience and hurled us all (including me) into cries of joy. Beatiful!

I've probably heard this about 100 times by now.  I first heard it here as posted in another blog.  It is one of my favorite airas in all of opera, and even while Mr. Potts was virtually unknown, it is one of my favorite performances.  He sings from the heart with the greatest of passion.  From the moment he sang the first note I was enveloped with that huge, open and passionate heart and the song became everything.  He became everything - the song. I'm including here the link to Wikipedia which offers the translation of the original Italian to English and also mentions Mr. Potts' performance on Britains Got Talent.

My friend Diane had brought this video to my attention a few weeks ago, and I am glad you posted it here. I love the look of the judges that starts out in a sort of sarcastic, disbelieving “Yeah, right.”, and then Paul opens his mouth and sings from his soul and they and the audience are instantly transformed. We are all diamonds, and noble souls, regardless of the world of appearances- We are not what we do, what we have or what others think of us. Makes me cry every time I hear it.
