NEED YOUR HELP! Seeking Big Ideas!

I'm currently going thru my journals from the last 6 years, finding all my favorite gems and writing my first 1,000 (!) Big Ideas that I'll be sharing on the re-launched ThinkArete.com and in the book I'm writing.

And, I'd love your help!

Got any rockin lessons you've learned?!?

If I use your ideas as an inspiration for a "Big Idea" I'll footnote you as the inspiration  on ThinkArete.com and in the book!

Fun.

Thanks for sharing your wisdom to help me share it!

Hugs and high fives and gratitude,

Love the picture ;)

You may have these already in some manner, but here are a few of my big ideas:

1.) Do what you are called to do, inspite of the fear.

and that ties into…

2.) Do what you are afraid to do because you are afraid to do it.

3.) Do what you would Love to do, even if you don't have the chance.

4.) Drop doing.  No matter what you've done, what you're doing now, or what you're going to do, it all happens in the space of being, the effortless perfection that you already are. There is nothing to do.  Just BE.  BE.  BE.  BE.  I AM.  I AM.  I AM.  I AM.

5.) DO  some more!!  Why the fuck did you take a body in the first place?!

Go through steps 1 through 5, in that order (each step can take any unspecified amount of time).  Step 4 purifies the process.  Step 5 (with the knowledge gained from step 4) makes it fun.

Hugs,
~M

another one is that I go through everything I own twice a year and lighten the load – it’s part of a little personal campaign to, as a friend once said, “shorten the tail of the comet” of my life – that is, live less in the past and more in the present – I also do an analogous emotional clearing out, addressing unfinished business in my life

I have a BIG IDEA for you…

Smile.

Througout your day today, smile at as many people as you can. It can even be as simple as a serene Mona Lisa smile. You get bonus points for smiling at intimidating or cranky people.

This is especially hard to do with strangers, and requires being brave enough to get over the akward discomfort of “putting it out there.” At the end of the day, take note. Did your smile affect anyone else in a positive way? How much so? Did it affect you? How much so? What other beneficial, positive things are you now willing to do that are outside of your “comfort zone?”

Love,
Michele

I love your Miso Soup idea the best.  I have been journaling for many many years. I do this everyday without fail.

It's cathartic and it's something I want to leave for my children. So, they know, how much I love them, my pregnancies with them and what a joy they were, childhood memories & experiences, who their mother was, what I thought about, experienced, my dreams and goals, my regrets and so on. And of course, to pass on my wisdom. :)  I leave quotes all over the place, some are mine, some from others.

So, I would love to help out in whatever way you need.

I once read about a study where depressed people were split into two groups—one group looked into a mirror and smiled for 30 minutes a day for 30 days. That’s it.

Just looked at themselves and smiled. The other group didn’t. At the end of the study, the smilers were significantly more happy than the other group. Cool, eh? Lesson: smile. Now. Tickle tickle. Gimme a little smile, will ya?!?

There ya go! That wasn’t so hard now was it? :)

Hi Brian…

Hope this is the kind of thing you are looking for:

“The core lesson I have learned, the most fundamental blessing I have been given, the most profound insight that I have experienced, is The Paradise Principle, which relates to:

How true Heaven, The Whole of Life, and Nature co-create, sustain, maintain, enrich, enliven, develop, enjoy and enable all Wholly (Holy) Natural Living Systems - wholly, naturally and eternally:

(A.k.a: True Sustainable Development, The Natural Way)

And this may be defined as follows:

Pre-Amble to The Paradise Principle):

1. In any WHOLE SYSTEM there are RELATIONSHIPS which take place between individual PARTIES within the SYSTEM, as well as between those PARTIES with the SYSTEM itself.

2. Each RELATIONSHIP has a distinct pattern, and individual PARTIES and the SYSTEM per se also interact with these RELATIONSHIP PATTERNS… thus making each distinct RELATIONSHIP PATTERN and the SYSTEM per se into individual and unique PARTIES in their own right.

The Principle:

1. In any SYSTEM or RELATIONSHIP each PARTY involved makes some kind of contribution.

2. That which is contributed must be of TRUE VALUE to THE WHOLE

3. That which is contributed must be of RELATIVELY LITTLE VALUE to the PARTY making the contribution.

4. That which is contributed must be of RELATIVELY GREAT VALUE to the PARTY in receipt of that contribution. (Bearing in mind that the PARTY may be the SYSTEM itself, viewed as a WHOLE.)

5. As a NATURAL RESULT of the above, all PARTIES, from their own point of view, RECEIVE MORE than they individually contribute, and NO PARTY makes a loss, all things considered.

And that's it…

If we all simply thought, spoke and acted in accordance with The Paradise Principle, then it does not matter what the difficult situation is, or what the problem might be - this is the solution.

It's how Heaven works and how we, individually and as a species may again work and live in Unison with Paradise Reality - and thereby co-create our own version of Paradise Reality. here on Earth (and anywhere else, for that matter.)

Keep up the brilliant work, Brian!

Brian, a few bits and pieces from my  manic memes blog:

It is impossible (though clearly not inconceivable) for you to be anyone other than who you are.

one simple rule: you get what you ask for.

Heisenberg’s (lesser known) uncertainty principle: The more you know about who you are, the less you know about where you’re going. The more you know about where you’re going, the less you know about who you are.

You will never be happy until you are happy with who you are, what you're doing, and what you've got

The older you get, the more you understand how little you understand, and that realisation itself helps you understand more and more, sorry, I mean less and less

“…life Jim, but not as we know it…” The belief that artificial intelligence does not and cannot exist is the product of small and narrow context-dependent thinking. Well-ordered complexity is the breeding ground where life and other dynamic processes emerge, whether the substrate is carbon or silicone, meat or metal or plastic.

Hope these help

A short phrase that runs through my mind once and again (no footnote needed 'cause I stole it from someone, somewhere, once upon a time.)

This phrase clarifies things for me.

Wacky b/c this  morning I wrote this:

Being Right

Do you have an obsessive need to be right? All. The. Time?

Me, too. ☺

If there’s one thing that kills relationships faster than anything, it’s that…The need to be right. All. The. Time.

An alternative?

How about not needing to be right?

Getting caught up in the web of righteousness? Let’s pause. SEE ourselves falling into our habit of “being right” and see if we can’t take a more spacious perspective—one that allows for differences in how others see the world.

Ahhhhhh…

THAT is a nice place to be.

You can still passionately express yourself (God forbid if we stopped doing that!) but check your intention: are you trying to prove you’re right (codeword for proving you’re smarter than someone else) or are you trying to grow and learn more about yourself and the world?

Let’s rock it!

(And, wish me luck, please. :)

Control

“You want to change your life?
Control the only thing you can control: the meaning you give something.”

~ Tony Robbins

Well, that pretty much sums it up.

Quit trying to control others. Quit trying to control outcomes.

Focus on the ONE thing (yes, ultimately there is only one thing) you can control: how you choose to respond to life moment-to-moment-to-moment.

What meaning do you give to challenges?

Do you view life as a fun playground and classroom always giving you new challenges to grow?

Or, do you view life and set-backs as a pain in the ass?

Choose wisely.

Yes  I agree!  And this takes great dicipline.   What meaning do I give to challenges????
I say bring them on!  Man– am I the expert!  Thank the Universe for those challenges because I now know there is nothing I cannot do!  I also know that accepting a challenge is a choice.  I do not have to accept it.  And if I do– I can change my mind.  It's okay.

To the next two questions  I will answer YES!  Life is everything.  Can be FUN– Yae!  It can be Hell.

One wise man once said…….  Don't expect anything in life and you won't be let down.  Or something like that.  Whatever he said probably sounded more wise then what I wrote!

I want to comment on what Matthew said up there again.  Well– and other people's stuff I have read on this sight also.

Hey hey Kirsten - Bri says it great above.

For me:  Happy vs right is more applicable to communication and interaction than the choices I make.  Do I approach folks with a “my way or the highway” attitude?  Do I have to have the ONLY answer?  Is my supposed happiness linked to being right?

Or do I allow that there are many viewpoints, possible solutions, etc.

Discerning the right choice is something different for me.

Take regular small breaks, you will come back to the task refreshed and achieve a lot more. This also applies to those you employ,  flog them too hard and efficiency will be impaired. Studies show most peoples concentration begins to flag after only twenty minutes, then they cease taking information in. So after 20 mins change tack and do something different.
Whatever you are doing Focus - give it your undivided attention, and that means listen actively really hear what they say, if people are involved this helps them to feel valued, and gives you information on their mindset, from where progression can be made
Hope this is helpful, I used to teach other nurses and learned this approach payed dividends.

Often suggest to my clients (especially the workaholic types) to set a date in their diary, to have an appointment with themselves for some time - 15 minutes, an hour, all day - whatever - and to keep that appointment…. so that it is just little you with big YOU…

“Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least.”

Who, outside your family and friends, is your favorite person in the world?!? A living hero perhaps?!?

Let’s say you get a chance to meet them in person—a full hour to hang out and really get to know them. Just the two of you.

You schedule the time. Put it in your calendar. (Yayuh!)

Would you ever even consider missing that appointment?!?

Unless a huge catastrophe hit, you’d be there, eh?

OK.

Let’s apply the same thing to YOU.

Are you scheduling time for yourself?!? Just you and you. (What a devastatingly good looking couple, eh?!?! ☺)

Maybe it’s time to work-out, time to go for a hike, to sit in quiet meditation, to read a book. Whatever it is. Schedule it. And show up.

Being aware of the BEINGness of all things is a BIG IDEA that guides my life now.   As a younger man and motived entraprenuer I spent most of my time doing, in action and sometimes in busy-ness.  I've come to learn how valuable BEING is.  The presence of
Being flowing through doing manifests greatness.

If you get carried away in the doing you fall out of harmony with BEING, with the flow of universal consciousness.  I see so much BUSYNESS in business.  Busyness is unconsciously valued and followed in the worlds we've created together.  Conscious business is really infusing being into the business of doing.  Being infused with doing is… greatness and BIG success.

We ourselves, society, the man across the street, we all assign different or similar significance to anything or everything in our lives. What  and how much significance I put on any thing or event is chosen by me by having been influenced by my parents, my religion, my neighbors my ethnicity, the mood I am in,  etc. Bottom line we all judge and place different significance or importance on anything in our lives. I can decide how tramatic a divorce is…or not tramatic….I put significance on having the flu…the dog barking next door…the balance or lack of in my bank account. Maybe it all just boils down to choices afterall. How much do I allow what happens outside of me to create my life?

I discovered a while ago that my life is created by my response or reaction to what is in front of me at the moment. I place the significance on it and make the decision to respond
in a loving life enhancing way or react in a way that creates more stress and chaos than I really desire. What significance (importance) do I place on any one “thing”. It is a neutral “thing” until I assign importance to it.

Hi all,

Just pulled this section out of a post on my blog on Holistic Thinking, so hope it is not too much out of context:

ENERGY per se is essentially NEUTRAL (Neutral-Synergy), but ENERGY is capable of being open to both SYNERGY and ENTROPY (With Entropy being the opposite of SYNERGY)…and ENERGY is also capable of being ENERGETIC…(Energy can also interact with other forms / versions of Energy).

And furthermore, what you will find is that:

- ENERGY and MIND are one and the same thing.

(I don't think that people are generally recognising that - but if you just think about it, the ramifications of this are enormous!)

All the best!

Anyway… had a wallop of inspiration over lunch…

Here we go….

Until you, honest to God, see God, as being an equal to YOU, you (little you) really have no idea about Who or What God REALLY is.

Until you, honest to God, see YOU as being equal to God, then you (little you) have no idea, in reality, about Who or What you REALLY are.

Oh… and here's another, thought I'd drop in to the pot….

We've all heard the phrase, I'm sure, of: “Let Go and Let God”…

Did you know that that is only one line from a deeper teaching of what could be called, “the Paradise School of Thought?”….

Here is the full teaching:

Let God be God.
Let Go and let God.
Let God be God

Ah….and another biggie, which often seems to catch people out:

Did you know that that which is PERMANENT is the absolute, complete and total opposite of that which is ETERNAL?

That which is PERMANENT is fixed, unchanging, without motion.

That which is ETERNAL is fluid, constantly changing, infinitely moving….and that term infinitely moving also means “can bring tears to your eyes”…..

Here are a couple of just do it's I wrote last week!

Just Do It.

“What would you do if you weren't afraid?”

As Ralph Waldo Emerson teaches us, “Always, always, always, always, always do what you are afraid to do.”

He also advises, “Do the thing you fear and the death of fear is certain.”

I guess he felt pretty strongly about it.

What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Just do it.

Just Do It… Buddha-Style!

“If anything is worth doing, do it with all your heart.”
~ Buddha, 6th century bce Indian mystic and founder of Buddhism
from The Dhammapada

That makes it pretty simple.

If it’s worth doing (very important distinction) do it with all your heart (equally important distinction).

Decide what’s worth doing. (Seriously. Are you doing stuff that you shouldn’t even be doing? B/c that’s the stuff you tend to do half-ass. Best solution? Stop doing it—either immediately or make a plan to stop doing it…)

Once you’ve decided to do it, give all your heart to it.

(Pretty, please.)

Hi Brian,

Thanks for lending an open ear to all of these suggestions.

Regarding your entry above on “Just Do It”.  I agree - we need to take action.  Personally, I look for ways to go beyond the catch phrases.  Just do it.  Take action.

I would also like to encourage all coahces (professional and non-professional)  to reach out to teachers and school administrators to provide support and encouragement.

People who are drawn to this profession are filled with such ideals and high hopes and over time the burden of our educational system wears them down.

We need to help to re-ignite the spark that brought these people into the teaching profession.  Our teachers and school officials need to be taught the skills of finding win-win solutions and to learn how to work together to create an environment that is most beneficial to the education of our youth.

Thanks,
John

Well, how about actually co-creating between us a completely new international business that will do practical things to help make the world a better place?

What I'm getting at is that, God Willing, I will be coming to the USA in December to start setting up a new international enterprise to be called Global Recovery (or similar) with its world base ideally being in Boulder, Colorado (at least that's how this seems to be shaping up at the moment)

This is hopefully the birth of that trillion dollar company I mentioned a few posts back, Brian, which will consist of distinct departments (each department starting with very small seeds - zaadz - ) but which will genuinely exist to facilitate the process of Global Recovery in order to achieve the aim of Global Unison - to help create a better world for us all -

So, the big idea on this post - before I post any information on a separate blog dedicated to Global Recovery etc - is this:

Let's go beyond Talking The Talk…. let's get together and start Walking The Talk… and blow the world's socks off!

Wodja think?

Hey Ray…I dig the BIG IDEA!  Let's do IT!  “Walk this Way…Talk this Way…Walk this Way”…I'm so not a rocker fan…but for some reason these lyrics and this tune just popped in…must be fitting of the occasion.  :0)

**FYI:  do NOT refer to the rest of the lyrics of this song unless you want to take a trip down “so NOT conscious lane”**

Seriously…who else out there wants to play along with this creation??

Brian
…you never know when your bliss just may direct this idea into your Genius Zone in a bigger way…until then…yeah, rock on with your bad self (ahhh…it was you who inspired the tune boppin' through my head!  :0)

OK Ray…
help us get started…what does this place look like?  How do you envision the infrastructure?  What types of souls are needed in order to facilitate this idea's manifestation?  How does it all begin?…for real…knowing that the resources necessary are already coming to this project as we know after this last week's Zym3 conversations that the world is ready for Conscious Capitalism and there are plenty of heart centered, soul inspired HUMANE BEINGS with the Dinero to assist…

Inspired and Ready for Action,

Great stuff!

OK - to save using up all of Brian's blog space (can you actually do that or are these things infinite?)

I'l create a blog on my own pages entitled Global Recovery….explaining what I see, the whys and so on, how this came about etc and hopefully this will start the ball rolling!

Off we go!

Right-ho!

I've posted two blogs on the theme of Global Recovery on my own pages (cos I found out these things aren't infinite! ha!)….first one you see, with the picture of yours truly in yellow shirt, is preferably the SECOND ONE TO READ….the first one to read is below that, with a picture of Clint Eastwood by it…

Please note these blogs are long and will take you some time to read…(you might want to make yourself a cuppa before you start!)

Hope you like the entries and hope they make sense.

Suggestions welcome!

hey, Brian – I'm loving reading all these big ideas – thanks for creating a place to share them!

here are a few more of mine:

1) spend as little time as possible on the things you don't like so you can spend as much time as possible on the things you love (this is my basic operating principle – I have lots of strategies)

2) turn down the volume on your inner critic (see Embracing Your Inner Critic: Turning Self-Criticism into a Creative Asset, by Hal Stone and Sidra Stone)

3) when I have an insight in a conversation with someone, I write a nugget of wisdom from it on a post-it – I have a collection of those post-its on a kitchen cupboard – they remind me of the wisdom, and they also hold some of the energy of the interchanges and remind me of all the people in my life with whom I share growth – some of the nuggets are:
* I get to choose. (see here for details)
* I have every right to be myself.
* Jump and the net will appear.
* I know who I am.
* Is this coming from my pleaser or my center?

and for times when I feel overwhelmed by a challenge (this one comes from The Transformation Game, developed at the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland):
* The hardest assignments go to the best students.

Whatever Happens , Happens for the Best…. is an accepted truth.

Now just fuse this truth with some courageous choice. Choose the BEST, grandest dream to do anything over the little choice you make. Because no matter what  follows…. whatever happens happens for the best !

Most of the time with most of the people choose something which is less risky, more secure or more acceptable option EVEN when in their mind they have something which their heart wants to do, something which can be much better or put simply their grandest idea.

So take ur chances and go for the best or the grandest idea because no matter what happens after that …. it WILL be for the best :)

How about this one:

How a Paradise Reality basically works:

a] “You say YES! when it is truly appropriate to say “YES!”, do so with LOVE, and act accordingly.

b] “You say NO! when it is truly appropriate to say “NO!”, do so with LOVE, and act accordingly.

That's it…

Here in the Paradox Reality we're all experiencing, we can find ourselves just not doing these simple things, and instead we can (for example):

- Say YES! when it would be appropriate to say NO!

- Say NO! when it would be appropriat to say YES!

- Say YES!, when it is appropriate, but do so with resentment or out of fear and so on…

- Say NO! when it is appropriate, but do so with anger or to stay in power and so on…

- Say MAYBE, when it is appropriate to say YES! or NO!…

So we find ourselves in a reality where one day, we MAY BE able to realise a Paradise Reality…in REALITY…but until we simply and truly do [a] and [b] above, when appropriate, we prevent ourselves from REALISING our own bona-fide Paradise Reality, here on Earth.

The energy of love is exponential.  The love of one equals one.  The love of two equals 10.

A community of love can change a nation.  A nation of love will change the world.

Imagination is one of our greatest gifts, it gives rise to progress, but we struggle with it alone usually,  My idea is to share our imaginative ” What If's ” we may not have the skills to achieve it but collectively we might, one might add hunches which may guide direction.

I thought of starting a pod for this, but your organisational skills outshine mine LOL

If we believe all are one in God / universal consciousness then perhaps we should
celebrate our individual or group achievements together, which helps all feel valued and part of the whole.

This sort of goes with the last post, but if we all just accepted each other and made an attempt to understand each other, our beliefs, views, and how we think than most conflicts would never occur, making us much more peaceful and helping to each other. Our beliefs do not seperate us, it is ourselves who seperate each other. Try to understand others, and try not to judge or judge as little as possible.

Hi Brian……got an idea for a picture you might like to draw…..Check out my blog which is called, SOMEONE DRAW THIS PICTURE PLEASE,  and see if it would be interesting to you to paint the scene described  by the story taken from Ken Carey's “The Return of the Bird Tribe”.  If you want that book I can e-mail it to you for I have typed it up.  The part of the book that needs a picture is in my blog, but also there are other scenes Carey describes that really great ideas for pictures.

I have an idea that would be  great for those who may be like me, and who don't keep up a lot with political news.  I believe that the ones most in need of our prayer are those who are the most corrupt….If we here at Zaady had a list of the ones that we specifically would pray for and we would send them the energy of our love as a collective thought going out to them, then it would influence them, greatly influence them.

You know how when we talk sometimes we say “They do this and they do that”  but we don't have any specific person in mind as the 'they'.   Or even the situation that needs energy sent to bear about it…..if there were a list that anyone could add to, and we were informed to go there when praying for the enemy in order to make our prayer more specific, that woud be good to have……
