Coolmel (the uber-fluffy uber-blogger) and I recently sat down for a little interview. Fun stuff!
B-SCAN is a series of interviews with bloggers who include blogging as part of their integral transformative practice, and those who are “consciously” aware of the impact of blogging on self, culture, and nature, “integrally informed” or otherwise.

Brian Johnson is a dashing, young, hot, and compassionate entrepreneur whose passion includes “understanding and living the universal truths while inspiring and empowering people to live at their highest potential.” After his first successful venture as Founder and CEO of eteamz, he embarked on a journey of self-discovery by traveling around the world while studying philosophy, psychology, mysticism, and optimal living. This hiatus planted in Brian the “seeds” that he eventually used to put his passion into practice. The result is a new and upcoming social networking site “with a purpose.” It’s called Zaadz (it’s Dutch for seed).
Brian recently took a break from his busy schedule and graciously spent time for this B-SCAN interview. During this interview, he talked about being a philosopher, a CEO, blogging, the history of Zaadz, the amazing Zaadz team, the direction where Zaadz is headed, and the challenges that lie ahead.
Warning: Brian’s optimism is contagious and fun. This has got to be the most hyper-linked B-SCAN interview ever. Very fluffy.

That was a good interview Brian.
Brian said: “That sense of giving back has been and remains a very powerful part of my life.”
I loved the twenty dollar story. It reminded me of when I was younger and got my first job and could finally afford to buy christmas presents for my family, instead of just receiving them.I could never have dreamed how good it felt and what an amazing experience it is to give something back to others. To see them happy because of something you have done, indescribable really. In fact after that receiving presents has pretty much done nothing for me.It’s kind of boring and disinterests me.
Defininitely one of the most ‘enlightening’ experiences of my life.Think I was about 13.
Giving is the beez n eez!
Awesome, Brian and Coolmel. I give it my ”too cool for thumbs” rating.
Howdy. This may not be the best place to post this but is there a way to get an RSS or Atom feed off of your blog (or others here)? I normally read blogs in an aggregator.
And then I found that /feed/ gives a feed. :-)
Brian………..
an I say…………………”Yaye”………..you have someone in Michigan doing jumping jacks. Since I was very young……I felt such an overwhelming feeling that I needed to do something……..something important…..something for “us”……
In my late teens ………….I went to a “church womans retreat”……
I felt odd……around so many older more “established in the church” woman…….at the end of the seminar….the gals in charge were holding a “come up and get healed” type of circle. I’m a skeptic……..always have been………….I didn’t want to go up there. No Way!! But the lady I came with was very sad and wanted to go up………she pulled at me to go with her. I went……..stood in line in the circle waiting…….almost at the end. I listened to these woman pray over my “sisters”………I knew their wounds……”these seminar woman did not”……..but their words of wisdom over my “sisters” were so on target…I was woozy. I was mortified at what they would say to me. The lady got to me and reacted quite oddly……..she was so silent for a bit……..and then she said “Hon you have been through some really rough times……..people have called you “weird”…and made fun of you……but the Lord has special intentions for you…….He has something special for you to do”………..I about passed out.
Sure …..sure……this could apply to anyone maybe……..but she wasnt saying that to anyone else. Visions of those years on the playground where I was excluded from groups and called “weird”……….came flooding in. But mostly those years upon years of odd feelings that kept propelling me to learn more and to get “ready”……….felt validated. I continued on with a super duper level of “getting ready”……………….
Ready for what? And even sometimes…………”I don’t want to get ready…….get someone else!”
I think “Zaadz” is what I have been getting ready for…………..not really Zaadz the company……….but Zaadz the movement. I feel all those years, lessons and learning……..culminating full circle………..finally giving me a sense of what I am supposed to be ready for. I mean seriously …………….for the past couple of weeks something odd has been stirring inside………….like a great flood being released.
I’ve learned to accept my “weirdness” and to “thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you” to the spirit that has blessed me with it. :-)
Some may say ……….I’m weird…….I’m delusional…………I’m a dreamer…………..
But I’m not the only ONE.
Heidi
Oh and………now that I am done talkin with my ego (all about me)……..let’s talk about you……..
Thank you Brian for helping my dream come true :-)
Heidi
This is a wonderful, exciting, never ending learning experience browzing the Zaadz blogs and comments. Thanks to all you folks!
Hey Brian,
How come your 3rd Chakra tatoo is on your RIGHT wrist?
Love, Bo
You’re so saucy B. “Dashing, young, hot, and compassionate,” it doesn’t get any better. Really though, I love ya, you changed my life. This interview is awesome and I look forward to all that is to come.

As someone who hangs out daily with people who glibly label people with SD colors (including labeling zaadz as green), I really loved this part:
“You guys are greedy capitalists trying to make money off of spirituality” well, then you’re probably Green.
“You guys are new agey, tree hugging, hippy freaks” then you’re probably Orange.
“You guys are going to hell because you don’t believe in Jesus/Allah (insert favorite here)” then you’re probably Blue.
“You guys are fascist pigs b/c you won’t let us come in here and say whatever we want whenever we want” then you’re probably Red. (I know, you’re pissed I just said that, too. ;)
And, if you come to the site and say, “Ahhhh…Finally. A place that’s striving to transcend and include spirituality and capitalism in a meaningful way…social networking with a purpose, huh? Why not?!?” then you’re probably Yellow.
“…dashing, young, and hot…” Let it all hang out, Bay-bee!
Mr. Big Stuff, …I Love you.
“At this stage, we’ve got a one page ad going out in a million magazines (literally) over the next couple months and we’re going to put all of our energy into creating a thriving community in line with our mission.”
I had no idea there were actually a million magazine publications.
Seriously?
i said 1 million magazines, not a million magazine publications. :)
yes, our ads are in over 1 million printed magazines in aggregate from 10+ different magazine publications. :)
I can really relate with all you have said, Heidi…
I needed that…'I'm not the only one' :D
Bless, Vanda
Brian,
You & Coolmel ~*~ ROCK ~*~ Great interview!
Zaadz means so much to me;
Inspiration, Fun, Tech know how, Friends, Laughs, Information, Turn On's,
Spirit up, Positive Reinforcement, Action, Caring, Sharing…
Warning: Brian’s optimism is contagious and fun.
Just want to say THANK YOU for Zaadz & brightening my day everyday!
Big Hugs XOXO
Wow Brian it seems you did so much in such a short period of time. And you also seem to have experienced a great education. I myself love philosphy and would love to some day me inspirational to all. However I'm still a student and don't believe I've expereinced as much as the others in this community. This is also the first time I decided to do something like this. However its great to see that so many people want to make a difference in the world. I was also born in California but moved to New York. Thanx I think your a great inspiration to all.
